Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The site conflicts with national planning policy and the RLDP’s spatial strategy, promoting unsustainable and disproportionate growth that would harm Wick’s rural character and setting. Development should prioritise brownfield or well‑located sites near existing urban areas with suitable infrastructure. This proposal would damage Green Wedges and Green Infrastructure and represents unnecessary countryside development. It extends the settlement into open countryside, eroding its form and rural approach. Wick lacks the services, transport and infrastructure to support such growth, and local roads are constrained. The site would also create significant landscape and visual harm. It therefore fails key RLDP soundness tests.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The proposed inclusion of land in Wick for development is not sufficiently justified by local evidence. While the VOG has a recognised need for additional housing, no Wick specific housing needs assessment has been presented to demonstrate that development of this scale is proportionate to the villages size, character and infrastructure capacity. Affordable housing need does not automatically justify this oversized development of Wick. Wicks status as a minor rural settlement, countryside protection and creeping village expansion have to be considered. It should be more suited to towns and strategic growth areas. Existing drainage and sewage infrastructure is limited.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I object to the potential development of Site ID 355 Wick, within the RDLP process. While the Council has not taken this site forward for allocation in the Deposit Plan, I wish to record my objection should it be reconsidered at any later stage. Wick is a small rural settlement that has already experienced significant recent housing growth without corresponding expansion in services or infrastructure. Additional development on further greenfield sites would risk disproportionate expansion of the village and incremental erosion of its rural character, contrary to the principles of sustainable and proportionate growth set out in national planning policy.
