Section 5.24 Suggestion to re-word the section relating to Good Food and Movement (GF&M) to match the description of the GF&M plan:
"The Good Food and Movement Framework (2024-2030) sets out where, in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, we will prioritise our collective efforts and how we will work
together to create change; in the environment, across our settings and in our communities. It has been shaped locally by a wide range of ideas, perspectives and
voices and describes how, together we will create environments, settings and opportunities that enable good food and movement for everyone in Cardiff and the Vale
of Glamorgan."
Section 6.7 Table does not include checklist and criteria for when a comprehensive HIA is required (as described in 7.2).
Section 7.7 Re-word from 'encouraged' to 'expected'. We would like to see a requirement for community engagement and that such developments are based on a
detailed understanding of existing community strengths, assets, needs and challenges. This might be achieved as part of the HIA which includes stakeholder engagement.
Section 7.18 Suggestion to include the following information: “Provide meaningful community engagement - actively seek to engage with a range of citizens, especially
those who may be directly impacted (adjoining streets and areas), using accessible and clear materials, resources and language. Provide engagement opportunities in a
place and time accessible to the community.”
Section 7 (general comment): consider how the quality of the HIA will be assessed by the council, as part of effectively implementing the requirements for HIAs.
Section 9.4: Research shows that many teenage girls, young women and gender diverse young people do not feel welcome, comfortable or safe in parks or that they

Therefore, along with children and young people needing free, inclusive and accessible spaces for high quality plan and informal recreation opportunities, also consider
advocating for such spaces to be designed for and to work better for young girls and teenage girls, to positively impact this cohort.
Section 13: CAVUHB Primary, Community and intermediate Care and Strategic
Planning have previously commented on access to healthcare and community facilities - please refer to the 'BP37 Primary, Community and Intermediate Health Care'
for more detail.
General comment:
Whilst there is a focus on design quality, density, and public spaces it does not explicitly incorporate food production or edible landscaping. Opportunities for multi
functional green spaces that produce food are missed, which could support local diets, biodiversity, and community engagement. Suggestion to include wording below to support multi-functional green infrastructure
consistent with placemaking principles: “Development proposals, where appropriate, should incorporate productive landscapes, edible landscaping, rooftop or community growing spaces, and other opportunities for local food production as part of multifunctional green infrastructure.”
