My objection is based on a flawed audit of 'green space' due to the inclusion of private golf courses being included in the calculations. Table 8 shows adequate provision of green space in St Athan but if you remove the 22 hectares of the golf course and 1.02 of the school both not freely accessible by the local residents this is reduced to 2.87 hectares or 0.688 of 1,000 population. When you then take into account the 1000 or so houses in the plan there will be a significant shortfall, while the site assessment HG1 KS4,KS5 both state there is adequate in area.
