Please can you recalculate the amount of open space in St Nicholas and Llancarfan following: Removal of churchyards as they are no places for leisure, Removal of the private burial ground, as it is not a place for leisure and inaccessible without a car, Removal of spaces with entrance charges, and land with housing on which are no longer POS and so removed from the document.
The ward is ten miles in length so there is no value in adding up open space as it is often more accessible to residents of other wards. The document contains numerous factual errors.
Please would you recalculate the amount of open space in St Nicholas and Llancarfan with the following modifications
• Remove the churchyards – whilst there are large graveyards, they are not places for leisure and there is no seating in many of them.
• Remove the private burial ground – it’s not a place for the public to visit for leisure. It’s also inaccessible without a car.
• Space with entrance charges should not be included. POS should be free to access.
• Land with private (or affordable) housing on it is no longer Public Open Space. This must be removed from the Open Space document – Bonvilston and Llancarfan.
Given that the St Nicholas and Llancarfan Ward is ten miles in length, what value is derived from adding up all of the open space in such a large ward? Open space within the Ward is often more accessible to the residents of other wards than those in the ward itself.
Why wasn’t this document circulated for checking before being made public? Documents like this should not be being published when containing numerous factual errors!
